Additional Craft Information:
The byers choice carolers was started back in the late 1960s by Joyce Byers. At the time, she wanted to make Christmas dolls that had timeless and classic designs. Thus, the Byers Choice dolls were created. Each piece is a unique work of art made by their skilled artisans. In fact, the creators boast that no two dolls are exactly alike.

In the start, they were making designs related to Christmas. These include the famous carolers clad in different shades of color, the snowman, the church attendees, as well as the family members celebrating the occasion. Even Santa Claus was included in the Christmas collection. However, the company started to produce news sets of designs and themes in the next few years.
Some of the collections include characters from famous children's books, byers choice carolers in different settings and occasions, and a few historical figures. Here are some of the most interesting collections by far. Though the Christmas Carolers still top many people's list as their favorite, the following collections are also worth a second glance.
While the Christmas collection sports a celebratory or a festive look, the Halloween collection begs to differ. The Carolers follow the dark color palettes as their standard shades, added with the traditional singing faces of the dolls. Somehow, the Halloween collection reminds of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol because of the characters it feature. They have witches, ghosts of the Christmas Past, Present, and Future, as well as trick or treaters, and pumpkin lanterns.

Ginger Bread Houses
The dolls themselves are beautiful, but the props that accompany the Carolers are just as excellent. Somehow, the ginger bread houses add a more festive feel if used as a background to the byers choice carolers dolls. Each piece is hand-painted with bread brown and colorful icing colors as accents. There are many houses to choose from: a pretzel cabin, a chalet, a house with a chimney, and a manor.
In the nautical collection, fans of the Carolers see the dolls dressed in fishermen's outfits and propped with sea produce. Some of the characters included in the collection are the nautical man and woman, a boy with a buoy, children, and a Mrs. Claus dressed in blue and stripes.
It can be a bit unfamiliar to see Carolers in a beach setting, but with the Beach Collection it totally works. The dolls here are donning sunny outfits and props like the beach towel, buoys, and picnic baskets. Some of the characters they have include the lifeguard, the swimming kids, a beach man with his folding chair, and a beach woman with the picnic basket.
The Carolers in this collection are wearing the traditional Irish clothing of green filled with clover prints. They have a leprechaun character on board as well. For those who want to have a dash of lady luck on their side, try getting the Irish dolls for your next decoration pieces. They are adorable and very attractive in green.
