Additional Craft Information:

Labeling the drawers will help you find what you are looking for when you work your hobby, and everything stays neat and organized.

DIY Craft Essential #1: Washi tape

You'd be surprised at how many things you can do, and how many tutorials out there are obsessed, with washi tape. The versatile paper tape with adorable designs makes great wall decor, paper crafts or can even spruce up your furniture.

DIY Craft Essential #2: Needle nose pliers

This tiny tool is great for small projects. "This is not only your go-to tool for opening and closing jump rings, bending wire, and securing crimp beads and ribbon ends, but pliers are also great for cutting through jewelry chain and wire," said Morin.

Storage Ideas: Cube Storage

Cube wall shelves are another simple and helpful idea for storing some types of craft materials, such as paper, felt, tape, paint, and similar items. Much like a picture frame, they are cubes that hang directly on the wall with room to insert a few accessories. Size and depth are based on the cube, and varying sizes can create depth in the room while still maintaining style and sophistication.

Similar to an apothecary, a cube storage system offers many different units to hold multiple items securely. However, many cube storage systems are customizable, whereas the apothecary's cubes are all the same size. With a cube storage system, you can tailor the size of the cube to meet your needs, and some systems come with doors that can be closed on scissors, glue, and dangerous items that should be kept away from children or pets.

Creating Every Inch Count

Finally, the best RV storage for a tiny craft room is to make every square inch of storage space count. Build storage drawers or cabinets under your desk. Take a cabinet with a door, such as a medicine cabinet, and appropriate it for craft room use. Hanging baskets are great, but they spill easily and aren't always the best option for storing small items. Use them for yarn or other material that will not fall out easily and make a mess.

DIY Craft Essential #3: X-acto knife

If you love stationary crafts, jewelry crafts or any delicate work -- you'll need a proper cutting tool. Not all scissors can do the job. "Remember first using scissors and cutting along the dotted lines in grade school?" Morin asked. "Hopefully, you’re attempting more challenging crafts as an adults."

DIY Craft Essential #4: Spray paint

Acrylic paints are also great for any DIY starter kit. However, if you're looking for a perfect, seamless finish on your furniture, art and home decor -- make some space to spray. It doesn't hurt to keep some cans in your favorite colors (as long as you store them properly).

Basements aren't always just for the guys. If you have an old basement and you're trying to come up with some remodeling ideas you might want to think about the lady in the house. *Pick a theme. This can be something you love, such as butterflies or football, or just a simple favorite color scheme. Having a plan can help you find low budget touches to your room while keeping it pulled together.

*Use bright colors on the bedding. This isn't just a place where you sleep, its where you live, so let your personality show through! Bring the bright colors through to the window as well!

*Push your bed against the wall, add some big pillows along the back, and turn your bed into a daybed/couch for you and your friends to hang out on, or study.

*Use sturdy cardboard boxes for end tables. Just cover them with batting or an old blanket, some fabric, and duct tape it to the bottom of the box. Instant place to put up your feet or serve pizza!

*Pick up picture frames at the dollar shop and a can of bright spray paint. Paint all the picture frames fun colors that fit with your scheme. Then fill them with pics of family and friends back home, calendar shots of places you want to visit, or print out inspirational quotes from the computer and frame them!

*Pick up baskets at the dollar store to store your toiletries, makeup or study aids, and they will be kept neat, attractive, and can be carried along to wherever you need them!

*Get some craft foam sheets in bright colors from the craft store, and cut them into cool shapes. craft room ideas
